My name is Mrs. Lori Wightman and this is my fourth year teaching at Ames. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Communication and English and my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in mathematics. I love being a teacher at Ames and I feel honored to be a part of your community.
First grade is such an exciting time for students and families! Our year is filled with lots of excitement and growth! Every student is expected to be respectful to everyone and to be a responsible student at all times. We work hard in our classroom everyday and we love to learn!
Ask us about our effort rubrics and our learning goals in reading, writing, and math. We set goals for ourselves and then monitor our progress throughout the year.
